Favorite Things To Do For 4th of July!

Happy Friday you guys!!!
I'm back today for another Friday Link Up!
This week, I'm linking up with THREE different groups.
Make sure to check them all out at the bottom of this post!

It seems my five favorites are all holiday weekend themed recently.
Last month I posted about my Five Favorite Memorial Day recipes.
And since it's now the Friday before the 4th of July, I'm posting about my
FIVE FAVORITE THINGS TO DO FOR 4TH OF JULY!

While watching fireworks seems pretty typical for 4th of July,
I'm shockingly NOT including that in my list today!
I'm still planning to go see them somewhere in Los Angeles
but wanted to talk about other fun things to do this holiday weekend!

ONE
It's been HOT in LA and I've been loving my pool.
It's forecast to be scorching this weekend,
so you'll probably find me here at least once!

TWO
I prefer to cool off in the pool over going to the beach,
but I'll deal with the sand to see a sunset like the one above.
If you throw in a beach bonfire, I'll be there even faster!

THREE
Summer holiday long weekends and grilling just go hand in hand to me.
I have absolutely no clue what I'll be making on it just yet,
but you better believe at least one meal I make will be grilled this weekend!

FOUR
And you can't forget a festive dessert to round out your grilled meal!
I made this Fruit Pizza for my aunt's birthday AND 4th of July last year.
It's really that good and can easily be made ahead of time.

FIVE
Lastly, make a batch of seasonal cocktails like my Blackberry Whiskey Punch!
Depending on the number of people you'll be celebrating with,
the above recipe can easily be doubled or halved.

Hope you all have an amazing and safe 4th of July weekend!!!

Favorite Memorial Day Recipes!

Happy Friday you guys!!!
I'm back today for another Friday Link Up!
This week, I'm linking up with THREE different groups.
Make sure to check them all out at the bottom of this post!

Since it's the Friday before Memorial Day,
and I'm sure lots of people will be hosting or attending BBQ's
I figured today I'd share with you guys my
FIVE FAVORITE MEMORIAL DAY FOODS!!!

Dad's Lemon Pepper Chicken
I just made this last weekend and love it just as much as I did as a child.
It's so easy and would make a great addition to any BBQ.

Homemade BBQ Sauce and Spice Rub
Maybe you're looking for more of a BBQ flavor?
Then whip up some spicy BBQ sauce or rub for some chicken or ribs!

Inez's Turkey Burgers
These turkey burger have SO much flavor!
And not only are they super easy, but can be prepped ahead of time too.

Asian Quinoa Salad
This would make an amazing side dish for any Memorial Day event.
And if there's leftovers, it can be enjoyed for a few days after!

Pizza Quinoa Bites
These would make a great appetizer.
And since they taste like pizza, kids will probably love them too!

Hope you all have an amazing and safe Memorial Day weekend!!!

Five Favorite Vegetables

This was supposed to be posted yesterday,
but somehow my day just got away from me.
WHOOPS

Anyway...
I'm back today for another Friday Link Up (but a day late)!
This week, I'm linking up with THREE different groups.
Make sure to check them all out at the bottom of this post!

I'm a really big fan of eating vegetables.
I'm not picky and like pretty much all vegetables,
and since this is mostly a food blog I thought today I'd share my
FIVE FAVORITE VEGETABLE TO EAT!!!

These are in no particular order because I honestly love eating them all,
but my favorite changes depending on the time of year
Lucky for me though because living in California,
means I can get them all pretty much year round!

Enough yapping outta me, let's get to the vegetables!

My favorite way to eat asparagus is to roast it.
I drizzle a little olive oil and then sprinkle salt and pepper on top
before roasting at 350 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes.

I can't decide if I like roasted or steamed broccoli more.
I prepare my roasted broccoli the same way I do the asparagus,
but I sometimes add a little fresh Parmesan at the very end.

I didn't know how much I loved brussels sprouts until I was an adult.
And since I discovered how much I love eating them,
I haven't found a single way of preparing them that I don't like!

Cauliflower is the most recent vegetable I've realized I love to eat.
Again, I think the method of preparing it I like the most is to roast it.
Adding a lemon juice and zest gives it a little extra flavor too!

Fresh, sweet corn on the cob roasted or grilled in the husk is AMAZING!
I've been known to make extra to have as leftover too.
Can't wait for Summer to get here because that means fresh corn!

Favorite Adoptable Bunnies

Happy Friday you guys!!!
I'm back today for another Friday Link Up!
This week, I'm linking up with THREE different groups.
Make sure to check them all out at the bottom of this post!

Since Easter is just a few short days away,
and I already blogged about my Favorite Easter Candy last year,
this year I'm straying from my normal blog posts and today's will be about
FIVE FAVORITE ADOPTABLE BUNNIES!!!

So why bunnies you may wonder?

Bunnies, specifically adoptable ones, have been a big topic at my office lately.
One of my closest friends and co-workers has been looking for a bunny.
Her and another co-worker are a little bunny obsessed,
so I decided to let them take over today's post.

So without any more out of me,
I'll let Phoebe and Alanna take over.
They've seen LOTS of bunnies over the last few months,
and these are just FIVE of their favorites up for adoption!

Hi Robyn's Hobbies readers!
(Or Mama Robz as we like to call her.)

We both really LOVEEEEEEE bunnies!
In fact, one of us just recently adopted one as our own.
While bunnies don't seem like a typical pet to adopt,
we're here to show you FIVE adorable ones you can adopt in the LA area.

There are many different resources when it comes to adopting a bunny,
but after looking at quite a few, Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation was by far our fave.
They're currently in the middle of updating their website,
but we've found that their Facebook is just as useful too!

Before we show you these five adorable bunnies for adoption,
let's go over a few important things to keep in mind when adopting a bunny!
We want to make sure you're fully aware what you're getting into,
and also make sure you've done your research.

Bunnies require just as much work as any other pet.
They love to be snuggled and get human attention just like cats and dogs,
so make sure you're prepared for this type of time commitment.
Bunnies are MUCH more than just a cute Easter present - they live a long time!

Now time for the bunnies!!!

And because we mentioned that Phoebe recently adopted a bunny herself,
we couldn't end this post without including a picture of her too!
Meet Moo, formally known to LA Rabbit Foundation as Hip Hop.

Favorite Kitchen Tools!

Happy Friday you guys!!!
I'm back today for another Friday Link Up!
This week, I'm linking up with THREE different groups.
Make sure to check them all out at the bottom of this post!

Since the majority of what I post about is food,
and I've been cooking for quite a few years now,
I figured today I'd share with you guys my
FIVE FAVORITE KITCHEN TOOLS!!!

Wusthof Knives

While I don't have a full set of these babies,
I have pieced together a nice collection over time.
My collection includes the following:
17-Slot Block, Chef's Knife, Santoku Knife
Paring Knife, Pull- Apart Shears and a Honing Steel

Hamilton Beach Programmable Crock Pot

I've used a crock pot for well over a decade,
but this one is a HUGE step up from my original.
Not only is it much bigger, it's programmable,
but the best part is that you can brown the meat in it!!!
I don't know about you, but that was a game changer for me.

Kitchen Gurus Food Scale

My brother got the for me for my brithday a few years ago.
And while it's not something I'd probably have bought myself,
I really do love having it around now.
I find myself using it more and more these days
because it makes certain tasks so much faster and easier!

KitchenAid Stand Mixer
I've had my stand mixer for almost ten years now.
When I first got it, I thought I'd make baking easier.
But I've learned to use it for other things too.
It makes certain cooking tasks easier,
and I haven't had to kneed dough by hand in years!!!

Cast Iron Double Burner Reversivle Grill/Griddle
This is one of my most used kitchen tools by far.
It's so versitle and I'm always finding new things to make on it.
It makes making tons of pancakes super easy,
is a great way to grill meats indoors,
and make an amazing grilld cheese sandwich too!!!

Don't forget, many places online offer cast back through Ebates!
I ALWAYS check Ebates before placeing an order online.
And really - who doesn't like free money???
It's not always much, but it's some money back!
