Banana Bread Brownies

With a Browned Butter Frosting!
YUMMMMMMMM

I made these scrumptious treats a few weeks ago,
and there is NO doubt that I will be making them again!
And probably soon!!!

I saw the recipe for these here and thought they sounded so good.
I love banana bread, so how could these be bad?

SPOILER: They weren't!
They were AMAZING!!!

And the best part is that they are so incredibly simple to make.
Take a look at the process below:

The Goods:
Yellow Cake Mix
Vegetable Oil
Eggs
Sour Cream
Bananas
Cinnamon
Pecans
Butter
Powdered Sugar
Vanilla
Milk

Mix up the first part of the batter.

Add the bananas, cinnamon and pecans.

Pour into greased 9x13 pan and cook for about 25 minutes.

While baking, make the brown butter frosting!

Done baking and before and after frosting is added.

The finished product.

Like I said before, these were amazing!
My favorite part by far has to be the incredibly tasty brown butter frosting
Yum, yum, yum!!!

Oreo Cream Cheese Brownies

In the past, I've mentioned how I have a folder on my computer desktop labeled "Recipes To Try". I keep recipes in there - in Sub-Folders based on typed - and keep them there until I try them and decide if it's worth keeping or not. I recently decided to make something from the "Sweets" Sub-Folder and after browsing quickly, I decided on...

These things SOUND amazing and folks, they really are! They are everything you would imagine and maybe even more. The rich little treats are so amazing and I cannot wait to make them again for more people to enjoy!

Now that I've gone on and on, let me show you how to make these amazing little treats!

The Goods!
Unsalted Butter
Granulated Sugar
All Purpose Flour
Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Salt
2 Eggs
Milk
Oreos - Coarsely Chopped
Cream Cheese
Powdered Sugar
Vanilla Extract

Combine Flour, Cocoa Powder and Salt.
Set aside.

Combine butter and sugar.
Bring to a boil stirring frequently.

Boil for one minute.
Remove from heat to cool slightly.

Whisk together the dry ingredients while sugar butter mix is cooling.

Once at room temperature - whisk the eggs into the sugar mixture.

And then whisk in the milk too!

Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and combine.

Done mixing!

Now fold in the crushed Oreos.

And put the mixture into a foil lined baking pan.

And start the Cream Cheese mixture...

Put Cream Cheese, Powdered Sugar and Vanilla in Mixing Bowl.

Mix, mix, mix it up!

Andddddd finished!

Now drop it on top of the brownie mixture and swirl around with a butter knife.

Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting.
Like the original recipe mentioned - I put mine in the fridge first too.

Chocolaty Delicious Brownies

I was asked to make a few finger-food desserts for a family gathering recently and we decided on Scotcharoos and Brownies.

The Scotcharoos (I'll post about those soon!) were easy because I'd made them countless times before, but I wasn't as comfortable with the Brownies. I wanted to make homemade Brownies as opposed to making them from a box like usual. After doing a quick search I found a recipe that peaked my fancy on a blog I'd visited many times.

So I made the Brownies one night to test and decided if they were what I wanted to bring for my family. They were VERY chocolatey, but they were exactly what I was going for! While I love brownies that are ooey and gooey, I knew those would be too messy, so I stuck to a simple traditional chocolate brownie.

After making the test batch, I measured out all the ingredients to mix up and bake after work on Thursday night.

Here's What Baking Brownies Thursday Night Looks Like:

Ingredients!

Melting butter with cocoa powder, sugar & salt.

Adding the flour!

 Ready for Baking.

Almost done!

And I COMPLETELY forgot to take a picture of them done...or cooled...or cut into small brownies!

I was making them really late after a long day at work. That's my only excuse. I'm sorry! :(

These brownies are just a little more work than using a mix from a box, but very worth the few extra steps.
