Baked Pretzel Ham & Cheese Sandwiches

In this post I showed you all about how to make Homemade Pretzel Rolls.
And today I'm taking it a step further and am showing you how to use them to make
BAKED HAM & CHEESE PRETZEL SANDWICHES!!!

My sister-in-law made a variation of these a few years ago.
And I was hooked from the first bite!
I knew I wanted to make them myself,
but as usual I changed the original recipe up a bit.

These sandwiches are incredibly easy to make and so darn tasty!
They can even be made ahead of time and frozen.
Keep reading to see how easy they really are!

The Goods:
Deli Ham
Cheddar Cheese
Butter
Mustard
Poppy Seeds
Onions (Optional)
(Full Recipe at bottom of post!)

Melt butter with mustard, then add poppy seeds and onions if using them.

Get all your supplies ready to assemble the sandwiches.

Cut Pretzel Rolls in half and spread mustard butter sauce on each side.
Add a few slices of ham and one slice of cheese to each sandwich.

Wrap each sandwich individually in foil.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
If making from frozen, bake for 45 minutes instead.

And that is is folks!
Super simple as promised!!!

Ham and Cheese Pretzel Sandwich Recipe
1 pound Deli Ham
6 slices Cheddar Cheese
 1/4 Cup Butter
1/8 Cup Mustard
1 Tablespoon Poppy Seeds
1 Tablespoon Chopped Onions (Optional)

2. Melt butter with mustard. Once melted, add poppy seeds and onions if using.
3. Cut Pretzel Rolls in half and spread mustard butter sauce on each side.
4. Add a few slices of ham and one slice of cheese to each sandwich.
5. Wrap each sandwich individually in foil.
6. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
If making from frozen, bake for 45 minutes instead.

Potato, Ham and Cheese Quiche

A few weeks ago, my friend Renee told me about a quiche she had made with ham. After hearing all about it, I KNEW I wanted to make myself a quiche with ham very soon!

I couldn't wait very long - I made the quiche just a few days later and had it for dinner with Elina. My ham quiche was a little different than Renee's, but I'm sure both were quite tasty!

The Goods:
Pie Crust
Eggs
Milk
Cream
Ham
Cheddar Cheese
Cubed Potatoes
Onion
Salt
Pepper

Mine had thick cut ham, shredded medium cheddar cheese, cubed potatoes and sauteed onions.
Oh and eggs, of course eggs!

Once everything is prepped, putting the quiche together only takes a few minutes. But then you have to wait about 40 minutes to enjoy the deliciousness!

It's worth the wait though, I promise!

Elina and I enjoyed the quiche with homemade salsa and a chopped salad.

An Easter Feast!

This year wasn't the first time I spent Easter away from my family, but this year WAS the first year I decided to make myself my own Easter Feast!

Ever since I spent the first Easter away from my family, I've wanted to recreate an Easter "Dinner". And I say "Dinner" because to be honest, in my family Easter "Dinner" was always closer to 2PM.  To me - that's more of an Easter LUNCH! Does anyone else's family do this? And why don't we just call it what it is?!? Anyway... since I wanted to recreate an Easter Dinner, I decided it only made sense to serve it at a normal dinnertime! :)

Elina, my favorite cooking partner and one of my best friends, helped me make the amazing feast! I've cooked an entire Thanksgiving Dinner, so I knew I could do this alone too, but let me tell you - Elina made it so much easier! It wouldn't have been the same without her!

Now that I've told you all about the feast, take a look at all the yummy food we got to enjoy!

Started it off the afternoon with some Mimosas!

Piping the filling in the Deviled Eggs.

Garnished and waiting to be devoured.

The Ham before putting it in the oven.

Starting the Au Gratin Potatoes.

Carrots peeled and trimmed.

Mini Cheesecakes waiting to be topped with fruit!

The Finished Ham!

Almost time to eat...

YUMMMMM - Time to dig in!!!

Strawberry and Blackberry topped cheesecakes.

The entire dinner was DELICIOUS, but the ham was by far the BEST ham I have ever had. And it's even amazing as leftovers too! I can't take full credit for how tasty it was because we followed this recipe

Easter Dinner in LA

In my last post I said I'd be blogging about Easter dinner later. Well later has now come. :) It is time for you to read all about my FIRST experience making Easter Dinner!!!

But first - I have to show the deviled eggs I had earlier in the day. You can't have Easter without deviled eggs! My eggs weren't dyed so it wasn't the full on Easter Egg experience, but they still tasted great.

Now onto dinner...

I wanted to keep things kinda traditional, so I started with a ham. I'd never made a ham before so I looked at many recipes, Googled many questions - how much ham per person, how do I lay the ham in the roasting pan, how thick do I slice it, etc..., and asked a few people for advice!

The ham before baking.

After baking, being covered in glaze and baking some more!
aka Waiting to be carved and eaten.
MMMmm!

After all that, I am proud that I didn't fail!

Haha.

Actually, I'm proud that it tasted pretty darn amazing. I ended up making this recipe!  It even smelled so good that a non-Ham eating friend said they may need to try it as leftovers.

Ha! :)

In addition to the ham, I made my Easy Roasted Potatoes - using gold instead of red potatoes, the AMAZING Buttered Rosemary Rolls that are always a hit, and a new recipe that I'd wanted to make for awhile  - Classic Glazed Carrots!

And of course, simply because it's been a staple at every holiday meal in my family for as long as I can remember...a relish dish!!!

Here's Dean and Melissa, the amazing couple who helped me celebrate this special and wonderful holiday.

Sadly, that's the best picture I have of the whole spread. :( I was in such a rush getting things to the table and it wasn't until halfway through the meal that I realized I forgot to photograph almost EVERYTHING!

Sad, so very sad!

I know this doesn't come close to making up for it...but this it the to-go version of the meal that I'm taking to work with me for lunch tomorrow. I'm absolutely looking forward to these leftovers!

I had a wonderful Easter and hope you all did too. I look forward to making many more Easter dinners for the wonderful people in my life in the years to come.
